Chance – $3500. 16 year old half Fresian gelding. 16 hands. Good trail horse; calm for traffic. Chance has a lot of energy and is in good health. Good with beginning riders in a pen or corral, but has the speed and energy to have a great time with an intermediate rider out on the road or trail. Mares

Nessie – SOLD $1000. 2016 Bay Miniature Horse/Shetland cross. 37.5 inches. Nessie is friendly, easy to catch, loads easily, and is ready for more training. Beautiful conformation.

Miniature horses require the same care and maintenance as full-sized horses. This includes good feed, exercise, and regular worming and hoof trimming. They can also be called ponies, as a pony is any horse under 14.2 hands. We are happy to answer any questions about care and training that customers may have.

Grass hay is all we feed our horses, plus of course pasture in the summer. They do not need grain as part of their regular diet, though we do give them a bite as a reward after we catch them. Like all ponies, they run the risk of foundering if given feed that is too rich.

Gentling: we start handling our ponies shortly after birth. They begin halter training as foals, and are usually pretty cooperative as they get older and are broken to ride or drive. These ponies can handle the weight of an adult, at least briefly, which is a benefit during saddle training.

Breeding program: Our breeding stock comes from excellent bloodlines, and each foal is special. Janette is not putting as many mares in with her stallions as she used to. She is downsizing the herd so that she will continue to be able to spend time with each individual.
